The 26 th Congress of the World Veterans Federation was held in Coppenhagen on October 19-23.
At the meeting of WVF -having more than 100 member countries - MEASZ was represented by President Vilmos Hanti and Vice-President János Nagy.

In their speeches the delegates paid decesive attention to the strengthening of the extreme right. The Hungarian delegation supported the initiative of the WVF to initiate at their governments to take effective measures in order to push back the extreme right. The President of MEASZ -concurently Vice-President of FIR - conveyed the greetings of the FIR Presidium and handed over to Mr. Hamid, President of WVF, the greetings letter of Mr Vanderborght, President of FIR. The letter was distributed among the delegates. Mr Hanti conducted a number of bilateral exchanges of views, among others with the head of the Russian delegation, Marsall Efimov. On October 23 the Congress greeted the MEASZ delegation on the occasion of Hungary's National Day.
