Kedves Vendégeink!
A FIR, az Ellenállók Nemzetközi Szövetsége és a MEASZ, a Magyar Ellenállók és Antifasiszták Szövetsége elnökeként köszöntöm önöket. Köszöntöm külföldről jött vendégeinket és a hazaiakat egyaránt.
Nem régen a „Nácizmus nélküli világ” mozgalom kiadott egy vastag könyvet, amelyben egységes szempontok alapján 18 európai országot sorol be a radikális nacionalizmusok társadalmi megléte szerint. Ebben az első öt ország, a szégyen sorrendjében a következő: Görögország, Észtország, Lettország, Ukrajna és Magyarország. De e vizsgálat nélkül a magunk bőrén is érezzük, hogy általában Európa, a volt Szovjetunió utód államai, de Magyarország is szélsőjobbra halad. Csúszunk, mint kés a vajban, gyenge ellenállás nélkül a nácizmusba.
A mai nemzetközi konferencia várhatóan mélyrehatóan fogja feltárni Magyarország és más országok helyzetét, Európa helyzetét.
Én csak annyit tudok mondani a magyarországi parlamenti választás előtt három nappal, hogy ha marad a jelenlegi Orbán-rezsim, akkor az eddigi diktatórikus, extrém nacionalista vezetés, amely igen közeli a fasiszta államberendezkedéshez, megkaphatja a maga legitimációját, s a folyamatokra gyorsítóként hathat. Ez még akkor is így lehet, ha tudható, hogy a jelenlegi kormánykoalíció a maga kétharmados többségével arcátlanul a maga érdekei szerint alakította át a választási rendszert, amihez ráadásul a maga számára nyerő társadalmi körülményeket is teremtett: kiszolgáltatottságba taszította az embereket, megfélemlíti őket, megszüntette a sajtó függetlenségét. Ma csak reménykedni tudunk abban, hogy a választókon fölülemelkedik tisztességes emberi mivoltuk.
Látnunk kell, hogy igen nagy a baj. A II. világháború befejezése óta mára a legerősebbé vált a szélsőjobb Magyarországon, de Európa több országában is. Másoknak talán annyi szerencséjük van, hogy nekik nincs egy Orbán Viktoruk.
Ebben a helyzetben kedves barátaim, a legszükségesebb az összefogás. Energiánkat erre kell fordítanunk. Külön-külön kevesek vagyunk, együtt sikeresek lehetünk!

A FIR és a MEASZ elnökeként azt vallom, hogy az antifasizmus nem jobb- vagy baloldaliság kérdése, az antifasizmus az nem vallásosság vagy nem vallásosság kérdése. Az antifasisztáknak igen nagy a családjuk, oda mindazok beletartoznak, akik nem képviselik az ordas bűnös eszmét. Az más kérdés, hogy minden antifasisztának más-más a sajátossága. Mindenki másképp tud vagy akar éppen antifasiszta lenni. De egy sokszínű társadalomban ez természetes dolog. Az antifasizmus az egy humanista életút, amelyet minden tisztességes embernek vállalnia kell. Különböző lehet világnézetünk, sőt még nagyon szeretnünk sem kell egymást. Ami össze kell, hogy kössön bennünket, az az újfasizmus elleni föllépés szükségszerűsége. A fasiszta gondolat nem vélemény, hogy teret engedjünk neki, hanem bűn, az emberiség elleni bűntett.
Ha közösen vállaljuk a széleskörű összefogást, azzal hallatlanul gyorsan javulhatnak antifasiszta pozícióink. Ezzel a mai életünkre igyekszem azonnal megvalósítható megoldást javasolni. A helyzet nem tűr halogatást. Szándékosan nem bonyolódom későbbi vitákra váró kérdés eldöntésére, hogy egy távoli jövőben melyik vagy melyek azok a társadalmi formációk, amelyek garanciát adhatnak arra, hogy az újfasizmus teljesen visszaszoruljon. Azt képviselem, hogy az antifasizmus tudatos erőinek cselekedniük kell. Nem holnap, hanem azonnal! Erre a programra kell mozgósítanunk azokat, akik felelősséget éreznek embertársaikért! Welcome speech of Vilmos Hanti at the antifascist conference

Dear distinguished guests,
As
the President of the International Federation of Resistance Fighters
(FIR) and the Hungarian Federation of Resistance Fighters and
Antifascists (MEASZ) I am glad to welcome both our guests from abroad
and from Hungary.
Not long ago the international human rights
movement “World Without Nazism” published a book, in which – on the
basis of common criteria – it lists eighteen European countries
according to the social presence of radical nationalisms. The first
five countries in the order of shame are: Greece, Estonia, Latvia,
Ukraine and Hungary. But even without this research we can feel that
Europe, the post-Soviet countries and Hungary are all driving towards
the far-right. We are sliding into Nazism without the slightest of
resistance.
This is why today’s international conference, organized
by the European Alter Summit network, MEASZ (the Hungarian Federation of
Resistance Fighters and Antifascists), the Hungarian Antifascist
Network, and the Hungarian Antifascist League is so important. Today we
will come closer to outlining a more resolute strategy to stand up
against the European far right and neo-fascism. I would like to draw the
attention to the call of FIR announced for the campaign of the European
Parliament elections. The essence of this appeal is for us to elect
antifascists into the European Parliament!
Three days before the
Hungarian parliamentary election I can only say that if the present
Orbán-regime remains in power, then this dictatorial, extreme
nationalist leadership, which in fact stands very close to a fascist
political system, could once again gain legitimacy, which further speeds
up the process of far-right tendencies. This will probably happen even
though it is known that the support of the present Hungarian power is
only an appearance. The present government coalition with its two-third
majority shamelessly modified the election system according to its own
interests. Thus, it has created such social circumstance that places
them in a secure winning position: people became vulnerable and are
intimidated; the freedom of press was abolished. We could only hope
that the righteous human nature of the voters will rise above, and that
they will be brave to replace the Orbán government.
We must be blind
to not notice that there is quite a big problem in Europe, and thus in
Hungary also. Since the end of the Second World War, the far right
hasn’t been so strong as nowadays. This sad situation is also present in
other European countries; however, they are lucky enough not to have
their own Viktor Orbán.
In this situation, my dear friends, unity is essential. We should turn our energy primarily to this. Separately we are but a few, together we can be successful! Therefore,
the precondition of implementing the antifascist strategic steps is for
us to be able to efficiently cooperate with each other.
We should
stop insulting and excluding each other from the antifascists. Some
consider those, who strive to gain capital cannot be antifascists. I
don’t believe this to be true. Some people argue that those who are
anticommunists or anti-Zionists cannot be regarded as antifascists. This
isn’t true either. Whereas some assume that antifascism is merely an
activism. I don’t see this to be true.
As the President of FIR and
MEASZ I believe that antifascism is not a question of political
affiliation of the right-or left-wing, or of religiousness. Antifascists
have a big family to whom all those belong who don’t represent and
advocate the bestial sinful idea of fascism. It is another question that
every antifascist has different characteristics. People are
antifascists in many different ways. In a colourful society this is only
natural. Antifascism is a humanistic way of life, which should be
undertaken by every honest person. We can have different world views; we
don’t even have to like each other much. What bonds us is the necessity
of standing up against neo-fascism. Fascist thinking isn’t an opinion
which should be allowed and further gain space; it is a sin, a felony
against mankind.
If we jointly undertake broad unity, our
antifascist positions could rapidly change for the better. But it is
only with the widespread unity of the antifascists that the possibility
of implementing our strategies opens up.
The situation requires
quick action that cannot be delayed further. I represent the view that
the conscious forces of antifascism should act together and unite their
efforts. Not tomorrow, but immediately!
