Egy éve érte neonáci támadás Hanti Vilmost, a MEASZ-FIR elnökét

19 órától antifasiszta tüntetés lesz a Papp László Sportaréna előtt.
„Elég volt! Mondjunk nemet a szélsőjobb agresszív fizikai és lelki
támadására!” - szól a szervezők felhívása.

Vilmos, a MEASZ elnöke is, akit egy éve ért neonáci támadás.
Az akkori tudósításokból idézünk:2012. augusztus 29-én a Magyar
Ellenállók és Antifasiszták Szövetsége (MEASZ) kezdeményezésére az
antiszemitizmussal és a rasszizmussal szembeni összefogásra szólították
fel a magyar társadalmat baloldali, illetve antifasiszta szervezetek a
Budapesten tartott demonstrációjukon. A megmozdulást, amelyen mintegy
ötszázan vettek részt, a nácik folyamatos üvöltözése kísérte. A
tüntetést követően neonácik 15-20 fős csoportja bántalmazta a MEASZ
elnökét. Az MSZP szerint a demokratikus jogállam elégtelen működését jelzi, hogy Hantit megverhették.
Az antifasiszta gyűlés
keretében a jogerősen betiltott Magyar Gárda megalapításának
évfordulójáról megemlékező múlt szombati, a Hősök terén tartott
rendezvénye és Csurka István színművének az Újszínházban tervezett
bemutatója elleni tiltakozásul hirdetett demonstrációt. Hanti Vilmost,
aki a demonstráció helyszínéről távozóban volt, egy 15-20 tagú fekete-ruhás csoport körbevette. Itt van Hanti Vilmos! – kiáltozták.
Megkérdezték tőle: „Ugye te szervezeted az antifasiszta tüntetést?”
Ahogy szorult a fekete-ruhások, jobbik-jelvényesek gyűrűje, Hanti attól
tartott, meglincselik. Miután az egyik fekete-ruhás kivált a szűk
gyűrűből, s megütötte az antifasiszta vezetőt, az elkezdett szaladni és
közben segítségért kiáltott.
A MEASZ elnöke egy
mentőautóban ülve adott telefoninterjút egy tévéműsornak, miközben
kórházba vitték látleletre. Azt mondta, nagyon fáj a szeme, ég az arca
és hányingere van, tehát agyrázkódásra utaló tünetei vannak. Hozzátette:
pontos személyleírást adott, a rendőrségnek vannak felvételei, minden
bizonnyal hamar elkapják a tetteseket.

szóvivője közleményében azt írta: az MSZP mély megdöbbenéssel értesült
arról, hogy szélsőjobboldali fiatalok egy csoportja rátámadt Hanti
Vilmosra, a szerda esti antifasiszta demonstráció főszervezőjére. A
szocialisták úgy vélik, hogy ez a felháborító – és korántsem
egyedülálló – eset nemcsak a szerdai tüntetés szükségességére mutat rá,
hanem a magyar demokratikus jogállam elégtelen működésére is.„A tegnapi embervadászat
prédája éppen Hanti Vilmos volt”, fogalmazott Török Zsolt, aki szerint a
kormány a „zsigeri indulatok elszabadulását tétlenül szemléli, sőt
gyakran maga szolgál erkölcsi és szellemi munícióval a gyűlölet
keretlegényeinek féktelen erő- és erőszak-demonstrációihoz”.
A szocialista
politikus szerint a jelenleg kormányzó jobboldal korábbi gyújtó hangú
nyilatkozatai által is tüzelt szélsőjobboldal „a haza nem lehet
ellenzékben” jelszavával felvértezve, ma már rendszeresen és az
államhatalom által alig zavartatva támad egyszerű állampolgárokra, a
kirekesztő szellemiség ellen fellépő, haladó gondolkodású demokratákra.
Az MSZP ezért azonnali
cselekvést, a szerdai erőszakos bűncselekmények elkövetőinek mielőbbi
elfogását, ártalmatlanítását és elrettentő erővel bíró megbüntetését
várja az illetékesektől. A jogbiztonság visszaállítása a demokratikus
ellenzék dolga lesz – jegyezte meg Török Zsolt, aki mielőbbi felépülést,
valamint erőt és kitartást kívánt a gyűlölet elleni harc folytatásához
Hanti Vilmosnak és „minden bátor demokratának”.
Hanti Vilmost kérdeztük
-Egy év alatt kiheverte a támadást?
- Fizikailag már néhány nappal később,
lelkileg még nem, s talán nem is lehet sohasem. Aki átesett olyan
élményen, hogy akár meg is halhat, az nem tudja elfelejteni az esetet
egyhamar.
- Úgy emlékszem, sokan fejezték ki szolidaritásukat akkor Önnel, az nem segített?
- Dehogynem, alig győztem köszönetet
mondani ezért. Az ember úgy érezte nincs egyedül, akkor ez nagyon jól
esett. A hazai közéleti személyiségektől, a fészbukos ismerőseimtől,
pártoktól, civil szervezetektől, egyházak képviselőitől, nagykövetektől,
s nemzetközi viszonylatban is több kontinensről érkeztek a
szolidaritási jelzések. Nemzetközi szervezetem, a FIR végrehajtó
bizottsága tagszervezeteinket fölkérte arra, hogy tiltakozzanak hazájuk
magyarországi nagykövetségén is az attack ellen.
Érdekesek voltak azok a kedves szavak
is, amelyeket lányom külföldi ismerősei neki írtak arról, hogy mennyire
elítélik az effajta agressziót, ami édesapjával történt. Eddig az
országban - nagyon elítélendően -, már származásuk alapján többször
megtámadtak zsidókat, cigányokat, melegeket. Lelkileg már eddig is
folyamatosan terrorizálnak embereket antifasiszta mivoltuk miatt, de
talán először fordult elő, hogy egy antifasiszta vezetőt politikai
kiállásáért tettlegesen bántalmazzanak. Talán ennek is volt köszönhető a
széleskörű reagálás. Nem meglepő, közállapotainkat tükrözi, hogy a
kormány részéről semmiféle együttérzést nem kaptam.
-Végül megtalálták az elkövetőket? Erről ugyanis nem hallani…
- Én is csak annyit tudok, hogy a
rendőrség nagy erőkkel nyomoz. Nem valamiféle bosszúállás, elégtétel
miatt szeretném, ha meglennének a tettesek. Hanem azért, hogy annak
esetleg visszatartó ereje lenne mások számára is. A jogállam
lezüllésével könnyen sokan azt hihetik, nekik mindent szabad, el kellene
kerülni a káoszt.
-Nem fél Budapest utcáin járni esténként?
- Bevallom az eset után többször
álmodtam olyan helyzetekről, hogy nácik üldöznek, beszorítanak például
egy pályaudvarra, ahonnan nem tudok kijönni. De utána hamar fölébredtem,
s boldog voltam, hogy szeretett hazámban a nácizmusnak még nem az
efféle súlyosabb időszakát „élvezhetik” polgáraink. Ugyanakkor azt
vallom, nem szabad félnünk. Ha félünk, a szélsőjobbosok még inkább
„nyeregben” érezhetik magukat, úgy vélekedhetnek, elérték céljukat, s
még kíméletlenebbül léphetnek föl. Ezért „tudatosan” nem félek, habár
tavasszal, amikor a Stern fotóriportere a megtámadásom helyszínén
készített rólam fotókat a szürkülő estében, bizony egy pillanat alatt
lejátszódott bennem, mi lenne, ha a náci csürhe ismét jönne és
bekerítene? Ugyanakkor meg arra is gondolok, hogy hozzám képest mennyi
gyerek, fiatal, s idősebb ember, sokan magatehetetlenül kénytelenek
Budapest utcáin közlekedni. Ők is féljenek? Olyan politika kell, olyan
közbiztonság, amely kizárja az ilyen agresszív helyzeteket.
- Milyen politikára gondol?
- Minden országban vannak
szélsőjobboldaliak, de a kormányok máshol igyekeznek mindent megtenni,
hogy azok ténykedését elszigeteljék, jelentőségüket csökkentsék. Sajnos
nálunk 2010 óta teljesen más a helyzet. A mai Magyar Kormány bátorítja a
szélsőjobboldaliakat. Anyagilag, erkölcsileg támogatja őket: azzal,
hogy programjukat folyamatosan megvalósítja, előbb-utóbb saját maga is
szélsőjobboldalivá válik. Ha még nem is lehet, s nem is szabad az
Orbán-kormányt egyértelműen náci kormánynak nevezni, de azon az úton
jár, hogy kiszabadította a szellemet a palackból, s ezáltal a náci
mentalitás úgy meg tud erősödni, hogy lassan maga a kormány is nácivá
fog válni, amely ráadásul még Orbánt is el fogja sodorni, ha minden így
marad, ahogy most van. Ha nagy lelki trauma közepette is adtam ki a
megtámadásom éjjelén a nyilatkozatomat, azt továbbra is vállalom.

„Csütörtökön, éjfél után néhány
perccel értem haza a kórházból. Szerencsére koponyatörésem nincs, "csak"
agyrázkódás, illetve az ütésből eredő ízületi fájdalmak, fejfájás. Nagyon jól esett, hogy az antifasiszták nagy családjából sokan kerestek, aggódtak értem, amit nagyon köszönök mindenkinek. Azok
a fekete-ruhások, akik körülvettek, mintegy 15-en 20-25 évesek lehettek.
Három gyerekemnél fiatalabbak. Én már megettem a kenyerem javát,
gyerekeimet fölneveltem, élek, amíg élek. Az eset után nagy
erővel tört rám az a kétségbeesés, mi lesz az utánunk jövő
generációkkal? Mennyire tudnak majd egymással békességben élni? Vádolom
Orbán Viktort, hogy Magyarországra, szeretett hazánkra szabadítja
cinkos együttműködéssel a fasizmust, amely már nem csíra, hanem lassan
szárba szökkenő pusztító gyomnövény. Nekünk antifasisztáknak továbbra is
összefogva tennünk kell azért, hogy a történelem során már egyszer
világégéshez vezető fasiszta mentalitást száműzzük mindennapjainkból.
Nekünk kell ezt végeznünk. Egyre inkább úgy tűnik, a Magyar Parlament
kétharmados többségű kormányára ebben nem számíthatunk.

A neo-Nazi attack against Vilmos Hanti took place a year ago

There will be an antifascist demonstration on August 30, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the László Papp sport arena. „Enough! Say no to the far-right’s aggressive physical and spiritual attack!” – states the appeal of the organizers. At the event, Vilmos Hanti the president of MEASZ (Alliance of the Hungarian Resistance Fighters and Antifascist) who suffered a neo-Nazi attack a year ago will deliver a speech.
We quote from the reports that appeared at the time of the attack:
On the initiative of the Alliance of the Hungarian Resistance Fighters and Antifascists (MEASZ) left and antifascist organizations held a demonstration in Budapest calling for joining forces against anti-Semitism and racism. About five hundred people participated in the demonstration, which was continuously verbally disturbed by the constant shouting of the Nazis. After the demonstration, a group of 15-20 neo-Nazi people insulted the president of MEASZ. According to the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) the fact that Mr. Hanti was beaten demonstrates the inefficient functioning of the democratic rule of law.
In the framework of the antifascist gathering a demonstration was called upon to protest against the last Saturday’s event held on the Heroes’ Square, where a celebration marking the anniversary of the foundation of the judicially already banned Hungarian Guard took place and also against the theatre premiere of the writer István Csurka’s play at the New Theatre. Departing from the scene of the demonstration Vilmos Hanti was circled by a group of 15-20 people wearing black hoods. They shouted – “here’s Vilmos Hanti’”. They asked him: “You have organized the antifascist demonstration, haven’t you?” As he was circled by the people in black hoods decorated with the symbols of the far-right, Mr. Hanti was afraid of being lynched. Once he was surrounded someone from the black dressed people stepped out and hit the antifascist leader, who started running and called for help.
The president of MEASZ sitting in an emergency van gave an interview by phone to one of the TV programs as he was carried to a hospital to undergo medical examinations. He said that he had pain on his eye; he had a headache, so he had the symptoms of brain concussion. He added that he had accurately depicted his assaulter, the police have footage, and hopefully the offenders will be caught quickly.
Zsolt Török, the spokesman of the Socialist Party (MSZP) wrote in his statement: the Socialist Party was deeply shocked receiving the news that a group of far-right young people attacked Vilmos Hanti, the main organizer of the antifascist demonstration held on Wednesday. The socialists think that this outrageous, but not unique event shows not only the necessity of the Wednesday demonstration but also the inadequate functioning of the democratic rule of law in Hungary.
… “the pray of the yesterday’s man hunting was Vilmos Hanti” – said Zsolt Török, according to whom the government stands on the slide line concerning the spread of anger and even itself often gives moral and spiritual munitions to the uncontrollable violent demonstrations of the representatives of hate”.
The socialist politician stated that the far-right, - fuelled and inspired by the statements of the currently ruling right-wing government such as the “the motherland cannot be in opposition”- nowadays often attacks ordinary citizens and those progressive-minded democrats who stand up against discrimination, meanwhile the state power itself doesn’t even interfere.
That is why the Socialist Party expects from the competent authorities prompt action, quick detention of the perpetrators of the violent crime committed on Wednesday, making them harmless and penalizing them with the strength of deterrence – added Zsolt Török, who wished Vilmos Hanti quick recovery as well as strength and endurance also for “every brave democrats” for continuing the fight against hate.
We interviewed Vilmos Hanti:
- Could you get over the attack?
- Physically I could recover already after a few days, but mentally still I couldn’t, perhaps I never will. Somebody who has come across an experience whereby their life was threatened will not easily forget it.
- As I remember many people expressed solidarity with You, didn’t that help?
- Yes it did. I hardly could say thanks for it. I felt that I’m not alone, and that was very comforting. Solidarity came from public figures, my facebook acquaintanceship, parties, civil organizations, representatives of the clergy, ambassadors, and from abroad from several continents. The Executive Committee of my international organization, FIR (Alliance of Resistance Fighters) requested the members of the alliance to demonstrate against the attack in their countries at the Hungarian embassy.
There were also interesting words which were written to my daughter by her foreign friends condemning the aggression carried out against her father. It is regrettable that several times Jews, gipsies, gays have been attacked on the basis of their origin in our country till now. People have already been mentally terrorized constantly because of their antifascist stance but for the first time it happened that an antifascist leader was insulted physically for his political stance. Maybe this was the main reason of the wide-range reaction. It is not astonishing, although it reflects our everyday life that I didn’t receive any sympathy from the ruling government.
Have the perpetrators already been found? There aren’t any rumours about it...
- I know only that the police have been investigating with great forces. I would like that the perpetrators have been caught not because of a revenge or recompense but it would be retentiveness also for others. Many people think that the deprivation of the rule of law provides them with a free hand to do everything, but it is necessary to avoid the chaos.
- Aren’t you afraid of walking on the streets of Budapest by night?
- I confess that after the event I have dreamed situations whereby Nazis chased me and overpowered me into a station from where I couldn’t come out. However I woke up and I was happy that in my beloved motherland our fellow citizens could “enjoy” not such sever period of Nazism. However, I think that we should not live in fear. If we fear, the far-right could feel itself in an upper position, they would be convinced that they have reached their aims and they could behave even more bluntly. That is why “consciously” I am not afraid, although during the spring, when a photographer of the Stern magazine took pictures in twilight at the scene of my attack, for a minute I imagined the feeling what could be if the Nazi dirty lot once again could come and circle me. On the other hand, I think about that - compared to me - how many children, young and elderly helpless people have to travel on the streets of Budapest. Should they be also afraid? There should be such policy, public security which could exclude such aggressive situations.
- What type of politics do you think of?
- In every country there are far-right minded people but governments in other counties try to do everything to sideline their activity and to curb their influence. Unfortunately, since 2010 there has been completely another situation in Hungary. The present Hungarian government encourages the far-right. It supports it financially, morally and as the government implements permanently even their program, it becomes itself a far-right type. Although the Orbán-government could not be and should not be named as a Nazi government, but it is on the path as it awakes the ghost out of the bottle and thereby the Nazi mentality becomes so strong that the government slowly turns itself into Nazi like, which will sweep even the Orbán-government if everything remains as it is now. I still take the responsibility for my statements made amid my trauma on the night of my attack.

„On Thursday after midnight, I went home from the hospital. Luckily I don’t have rupture of my head, “only” I have concussion of the brain, joint and headache. It was a good feeling that many people from the big family of antifascists searched me and worried about me and I have to thank everybody for it. Those who were in black hoods and circled me, they could be around 20-25 years old. They were younger than my three children. I have already eaten the great portion of my bread, I have raised my children, I live till I live. After the event I was driven into despair, what will happen to our coming generation? How could they live together in peace? I accuse Viktor Orbán because he releases the fascism, which has already been not a sprout but a speared weed, into our beloved motherland Hungary with privy cynical cooperation. We, the antifascists should further act together to eliminate from our everyday life the fascist mentality which once has already caused the Second World War. We are those who should do it. It seems that in this case we could not rely on the government which has a two-third majority in the Hungarian parliament.
