Hanti Vilmos, a FIR és a MEASZ elnöke magyar és angol nyelvű beszéde a „Georgi Dimitrov és mai korunk” című nemzetközi konferencián. (Szófia, 2012. június 18.)
Kedves Antifasiszta Barátaim!
Megtiszteltetés számomra, hogy több minőségben szólhatok ezen a nagy jelentőségű konferencián, amelyet a Bolgár Antifasiszta Szövetség szervezett „Georgi Dimitrov és mai korunk” címmel Dimitrov születése 130. évfordulója alkalmából. Mint szocialistaként, a FIR (Ellenállók Nemzetközi Szövetsége –Antifasiszta Szervezet) és a MEASZ (magyar Ellenállók és Antifasiszták Szövetsége) elnökeként köszönöm meg a szervezőknek, hogy kiválóan ápolják Dimitrov szellemi hagyatékát, amely sajnálatosan nagyon aktuális mondanivalót nyújt számunkra mai korunkban is.
Elöljáróban szeretnék utalni rá, hogy Dimitrov kapcsolata hazám, Magyarország munkásmozgalmával a XX. század elején kezdődött, amikor részt vett egy Budapesten tartott nemzetközi szakszervezeti konferencián. Talán személyes fellépésének is volt köszönhető, hogy ezután a magyar szociáldemokrata pártban megnőtt a figyelem a bolgár munkásmozgalom iránt. A magyar szociáldemokrata lap, a Népszava a bulgáriai hírek mellett nagy cikket közölt a pártalapító teoretikus Dimitar Blagoevtől, és a lap munkatársai a Balkán háborúk idején segítették a bolgár testvérorgánumot.
Természetesen nem szeretném, ha Dimitrovról szólva csupán csak magyar vonatkozásokat keresnénk, hisz tevékenysége, amiben szerencsésen ötvöződött a szociáldemokrata tradíciók java a forradalmi elkötelezettséggel, túlnőtt hazája határain, a kelet-európai régión, s egyetemes jelentőségűvé vált.
Nem szándékozom itt és most előadni hősünk életrajzát, hisz ezt a jelenlevők bizonyára nálam jobban ismerik, csak néhány elemre utalok. 1923-ban a bolgár demokratikus kormányt megbuktató ellenforradalmi puccs ellenében fogott fegyvert, majd a felkelés leverése után emigránsként azon dolgozott, hogy koordinálja a térség baloldali pártjainak tevékenységét, ezzel is remélve megteremteni a régi célt: a Balkán - federációt.
A XX. század végén az államszocialista rendszerek felbomlását követően fellobbanó nacionalista indulatok, a térségben terjedő erőszak különösen fölértékelték a Balkán - federáció eszméjét, amelynek Dimitrov élete végéig elkötelezett híve volt.
Dimitrov irányító munkáját a harmincas évek elején Berlinből végezte, s itt érte a náci hatalomátvétel, majd a totális diktatúra megteremtésére ürügyet szolgáltató merénylet: a Reichstag felgyújtása, amivel a nácik felbujtóként Dimitrovot vádolták. A nagy pert az egész világ figyelme kísérte, a vádlott bátorságát még a nézeteivel ellenséges burzsoá sajtó is csodálta. Az óriási nemzetközi visszhang hatására a bíróság kénytelen volt Dimitrovot felmenteni, aki ezután a Szovjetunióba távozott.
Kedves Barátaim!
Hét évvel ezelőtt már részt vettem Önöknél egy jól szervezett Dimitrov emlékülésen. Ránk antifasisztákra különösen jellemző, hogy véleményünket nem váltogatjuk különféle széljárás szerint. Már akkor is elmondtam, most is elmondom, hogy Dimitrov egyik legjelentősebb érdeme, s egyben üzenete a mai kornak az, amely egyébként saját antifasiszta vezetői tevékenységemre is immáron húsz éve meghatározó hatású, hogy a fasizmus nemzetközi méretű előretörése ellenében – jórészt az ő kezdeményezésére - széles, különféle rétegeket összefogó demokratikus összefogás született: a népfront.
A MEASZ tagkönyvén ez szerepel: „Az antifasizmus nem jobb-, vagy baloldaliság kérdése, hanem egy humanista életút.” Napjainkban, amikor a jobboldali szélsőségek főleg a gazdasági válság hatására világszerte megerősödőben vannak, országos és nemzetközi keretek között a Dimitrov által képviselt összefogásra ismét szükség van, természetesen változó formában, módosult tartalommal.
Mint a FIR és a MEASZ elnöke olyan szervezeteket képviselek, amelyeknek tagjai napjainkban szerencsére még szép számban köztünk élő egykori antifasiszta ellenállók, a náci haláltáborok túlélői. Azok, akik megtapasztalták, milyen az, amikor a demokrácia folyamatos csökkentésével majd teljes feladásával az embereket tömegét meg tudja fertőzni az államilag is támogatott gyilkos, pusztító ideológia, a rasszizmus, a fasizmus.
Ne becsüljük le napjainkban sem a szélsőjobbra tolódás folyamatának veszélyét! Ránk antifasisztákra vár az a feladat, hogy kezdeményezői legyünk annak, hogy a különféle társadalmak vessék ki magukból a gyűlölködő gondolatokat, a gyűlölködést közvetve vagy közvetlenül képviselő pártokat, a demokrácia ellenérdekelt képviselőit ne engedjék be a nemzeti parlamentekbe de az Európai Parlamentbe sem.
Éppen ezért határozottan szükség van a közös föllépésre mindazokkal, akik a fasizmus, illetve a fasizmus előszobáját jelentő rasszizmus embertelensége ellen mozgósíthatók. Legyenek azok baloldaliak vagy jobboldaliak, vallásosak vagy nem vallásosak, idősek vagy fiatalok. Vagy összefogunk vagy elbukunk! Az élet egyéb területein ugyan mást-mást képviselhetünk, de az erősödő szélsőjobb ellen közösen kell föllépnünk! Csak így lehetünk eredményesek!. Külön-külön egy-egy párt, egy-egy politikai irányzat, egy-egy antifasiszta csoport sem képes érdemben szembe nézni a nemzeti demokráciákra, Európára, az Európa Parlamentre leselkedő veszéllyel.
Mondjunk közösen NEM-et a szélsőjobbra! Soha többé háborút, soha többé fasizmust!
Tehát kedves barátaim van mit tanulnunk a gazdag dimitrovi életműből!
A tanácskozáshoz sok sikert kívánok és azt, ha hazamegyünk erről a konferenciáról, legyen erőnk, lehetőségünk az itt szerzett ismereteket a saját körülményeinkhez igazítva tettekkel hasznosítanunk.

at the international conference on „Georgi Dimitrov and our present age”
held in Sofia (June 18, 2012)
Dear my Antifascist Friends,
It is a great privilege for me that I can speak in many qualities in this conference of great importance organized by the Bulgarian Antifascist Association on the occasion of the 130. Anniversary of the birthday of Georgi Dimitrov. As a socialist, as the president of the FIR (the International Federation of Resistance Fighters – Association of Anti - fascist) and the MEASZ (Hungarian Association of Resistance and Antifascists) I thank the organizers that they maintenance excellently the intellectual legacy of Dimitrov, which unfortunately gives very actual importance nowadays in our age.
First of all I would like to refer to the fact that the relationship between Dimitrov and the labour movement of Hungary started in the beginning of the twenties century when he participated on an international trade union conference in Budapest. May be it was his personal activity which led to the fact that in the Hungarian Social Democratic Party more attention was devoted to the labour movement of Bulgaria. The newspaper of the Hungarian Social democratic Party Népszava (The People’s Word) besides the news from Bulgaria published a big article from the founder of the party and its theoretic Dimitar Blagoev and the employees of the Hungarian newspaper helped their Bulgarian compatriots and friends during the war at the Balkans.
Of course, I do not want that speaking about Dimitrov we search only Hungarian connections, because his activity, in which fortunately combined the great portion of the social democratic traditions with revolutionary commitment, expanded beyond the boundaries of his country, the Easter-European region and it has become universal.
I do not intend to present here our hero’s biography right now because those who are present here know it better than I, but I refer to only few elements. In 1923 he took up arms against the counterrevolutionary coup which overthrow the Bulgarian democratic government and after the defeat of the uprising he worked as an emigrant for the coordination of the leftist parties of the region hoping to create the old goal – the Balkan federation.
At the end of the twenties century, following the dissolution of the state socialist system the rebirth of the nationalistic passions, the spreading violence in the region upgraded the idea of the Balkan federation whose devotee was Dimitrov till the end of his life.
Dimitrov worked in the beginning of the thirties in Berlin where he was during the Nazi takeover and when a fire was set on the Reichstag which was a pretext to create a totalitarian dictatorship and the Nazis accused Dimirtov as an instigator. The great trial was followed by the world and even the bourgeois press admired the courage of the accused although it was against its views
In accordance with the great international resonance the court had to exempt Dimitrov from the charge and after it he left for the Soviet Union.
Dear my Friends,
Seven years before I had already participated on a well-organized Dimitrov memorial seat. For the antifascists it is particularly characteristic that we do not change our opinions according to different winds. I said it even that time and I repeat it now, that one of his most significant achievements and at the same time his message was for our time, which by the way for my personal antifascist leadership activities in twenty years now a decisive effect has, that against the international-size rise of fascism – largely on his own initiative – a wide, comprising several layers of democratic unity, the people’s front was formed.
On the member’s book of MEASZ (Hungarian Association of Resistance and Antifascists) there is a sentence: “The antifascism is not a question of rightist or leftist, but a humanistic way of life”. Nowadays, when the rightist extremes in the consequences of the economic crises around the world become stronger the cooperation represented by Dimitrov within national and international frame is once again needed, but naturally in different forms and with changed substance
As the president of FIR and MEASZ I represent such organizations which members are former antifascist resistance fighters, the survivors of the Nazi death camps, who still in a good number luckily, live among us. They are those who experienced what was when with the continuous reduction and finally with the complete abandonment of the democracy a state-supported murderous, destructive ideology, the racism and fascism contaminated the mass of people.
Do not underestimate the danger of the process of extreme right shift even nowadays. It is our task that the antifascists should be the initiators to facilitate that the different societies will be able to get rid of the hated thoughts, such parties which represent directly or indirectly hate and do not let the undemocratic representatives into national parliaments neither into the European Parliament.
Therefore, there is a definite need of joint actions with those who could be mobilized against fascism or the inhumanity of racism which is the hall of fascism. They could be leftist or rightists, religious or not religious, seniors or young people. Either we unite or we’ll fall.
Although on other areas of life we could represent different things however we should work together to counter the growing right-wing extremists. Only in this way can we be successful.
Separately, a party, a political trend, an antifascist group would not be able to fight the danger which jeopardizes the national democracy, Europe, the European Parliament.
Let’s say together NO on rightwing extremists. Never again more wars, never again fascism.
So my dear friends, I think there are a lot of things what we have to learn from Dimitrov’s rich oeuvre. I wish great success for the conference and I do hope that when we return home from this conference we will have strength and opportunity to utilize the here acquired knowledge in practice tailored to our own circumstances.
